About Our Project
The main goal of the “Brighter Side Of Exercise” Project is to raise awareness about the importance of health-enhancing physical activity in treating anorexia and its role in the process of (re)integration into the society. Through the cooperation of 14 organizations from 14 EU countries, the project shall first analyze the problem of anorexia and physical activity (in its double function in this problem) in order to develop a pilot project of moderate physical activity in the phases of therapy and post-therapy which shall be implemented during a sport event. All activities shall take place during the week of sport in the second half of September 2017 on one hand, and on the other, during the meetings and exchanges which will be organized before and after the sports events. The sport manifestation will gather more than 150 people in treatment or post-treatment for anorexia which will represent the very first event of this kind.

What We Will Try To Achive
Promote voluntary activities in sport, together with social inclusion, equal opportunities and awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity through increased participation in, and equal access to, sport for all
Prevention
After the project „Brighter Side of Exercise“ the prevention will be easier. Educating kinesiologists, fitness trainers or instructors about anorexia symptoms, the disorder can be prevented from going in to a higher stage. Other experts can get included and the training proces can become a part of a therapy.
Clinical therapy
The project gathers experts from the whole Europe to share their knowledge, best practices and discuss practical models and measures of HEPA to be implemented during and after the treatment.
Rehabilitation
The project will disseminate creation of successful models of balanced PA for experts, institutions and centers in Europe which deal with anorexia problems, so that an adequate activity can be provided even after the therapy.
Social inclusion
Patients with anorexia do not only suffer from eating disorders that affect their physical state but eventually they become socially marginalized and stigmatized which largely influences their post therapeutic social inclusion. That is why one of the goals of this project is to enhance social inclusion by using sports.
An Awesome Team of experts
We are creating a network of experts from EU institutions and other professionals/experts connected to the problem of anorexia and the effect of physical activity with a goal of developing innovative models of exercising
