The 1st meeting was held in University Psychiatric Clinic Ljubljana, Slovenia.
It started with the opening words of Matija Dunaj, principal of Fitness Academy, about the Academy and the project. Karin Sernec md. introduced the clinic’s work. It was interesting to know that they were the first to allow male and female together in the eating disorders ward. All evaluations give excellent feedback. We discussed male anorexy, categorizing anorexia as a female disease, and how all written books have been oriented towards women.A suggestion was made to include a certain amount of time to be spent on mental postulates during the education for the fitness specialists. At the clinic, they include a camera in their treatment to achieve the „aha“ effect. We continued the conversation with their kinesiologist Iztok Rink who held a very interesting presentation of their work and methods they use. They are proud of their innovative group movement therapy, the use of camera and mirrors, and symbolic movement vs. symptomatic movement of the individual. They are aware that their therapy is not common but the confirmation from their patients is all they need.
The 2nd meeting was held at Bio Fit Center, Koritno, Bled, Slovenia, May 27th, 2017

The meeting was held in Bio Fit Center in Koritno, Bled, with two trainers who have experience in training with people with eating disorders Primoš and Katja, Ana who is a medical nurse, Danijela the psychiatrist with whom they collaborate and Iztok who knows what great work they do in the center.

When we approached the center we were not sure that we came to the right place. The surrounding was green and peaceful. A perfect location. With the regular work with the clients, the center offers Multifamily therapy and training for the people treated for eating disorders. They emphasize the importance of a calming location. We had a wonderful opportunity to meet Ana who was speaking about her own struggle.
We talked about their experience that confirms the positive influence of sport and physical activity on treating anorexia. There was a mention of an anorexia treating experts database that should be created.

A common problem was mentioned, a situation in the fitness centers when often clients come and there is no professional to supervise.
The conclusion of the meeting was creating a deeper connection of experts as it is an example in England, creating more communication and sharing experience.
